His Holiness the Dalai Lama & Laurens van den Muyzenberg
Authors

His Holiness the Dalai Lama

His Holiness the Dalai Lama considers himself to be a monk and a follower of Buddha. He is the spiritual head of Tibetan Buddhism and head of the Tibetan government in exile. When Tibet becomes and autonomous region in China, the Dalai Lama will only continue in his spiritual role.

The Dalai Lama lives in Dharamsala, in India, in the foothills of the Himalayas.

The Dalai Lama has taken an intense interest in Western society and science. He believes that all religions can provide the teachings for people to lead good and responsible lives. The Dalai Lama also believes that moral values have not kept pace with scientific developments. There is a moral deficit leading the serious problems such as abject poverty, violent conflicts and violations of human rights.

The Dalai Lama has concluded that several secular Buddhist concepts can help leaders in business to better meet the increasing expectations of society of leader performance.
